Carina’s Bakery operates out of a shared use kitchen that does not allow us to be certified at this time.

None of our products contain dairy ingredients.

Do your products contain eggs?

Do your products contain tree nuts?

In the Carina’s Bakery kitchen, coconut is queen, and almost all of our treats contain its rich royalty in some form. Beyond that, traces of other (especially almonds and hazelnuts) may be present in our products, as it is a favorite flavor booster. However, our Sarah Bernhardt Bonnets, Pistachio Pizzazz Shortbread, Hazelnut Half Dips, and Health Nut Muffins are the only products that actually contain them.

Why aren’t you certified organic?

We are committed to finding the best, preferably local, ingredients possible. We want to develop relationships with our suppliers and support a growing community of culinary and ethical ambassadors. We hope that this will include many organic products that we can use to make our cookies, scones and other treats that much sweeter. For now, though, quality is more important than the process and narrow scope of organic certification.

If all your products are vegan, how do I know they will be any good?

If all your products are vegan, how do I know they will be any good?

Think about how it is to bite into a fresh picked strawberry at the height of summer. It’s a ruby red orb that bursts and spreads its sweet nectar all over your mouth with a nuance made possible by basking under the warm glow of the sun and being nurtured by a tender hand of nature and touched by the wings of bees and the care of knowing farmers. It’s a summer pleasure worth waiting for, and needs little more. Though the pinch of salt and sprinkling of black pepper fire we add will make it pop just a little bit more. We make flavors shine, with out the shadow and clouds that come with dairy or other animal products. We have the knowledge to make flavors pop so you won’t miss the butter!

How do I know my purchases are really helping people with disabilities?

Owner Carina Comer wants to show how passion, drive, and community can come together to create success in anyone who wants it. As we get going, we will be employing and posting about other faces behind our company and their talents we can’t wait to employ and help flourish. Keep an eye on our blog and social media pages!

How long do your products last?

If you don’t gobble everything up right away (which is best, in our opinion, and if you have any kind of sweet tooth, inevitable)- we recommend storing most of our products in the freezer. There, they can easily keep for a few months, if wrapped air tight. Scones, cookies, and breads can be warmed gently in the oven. Otherwise, when kept at room temperature and airtight in their packages, cookies can probably last up to a week, cakes and muffins up to 3 days, and scones and breads 2 to 3 days.

Do you use any preservatives?

We do not add anything extra to our baked goods to extend their shelf life, and in fact try our hardest to keep our ingredients as simple as possible- ones you can pronounce!

Do you take custom orders?

Absolutely! We will work with you to tweak our flavors and recipes to suit your needs.

Do you do wedding or birthday cakes?

We would love to bake you a custom cake! Please check out our cake page for more details, or if you’re ready to order you can fill out our online form

Why Carina's Cookies?

For owner Carina Comer, cookies are where it all started. She never felt happier than while pouring chocolate chips into lovingly mixed batches of dough. Christmas time was spent working side by side with Mom to roll small balls of hope to share with neighbors along with stories of triumph over cancer and blindness, and a taste of Swedish tenacity running down the family tree and into the oven. Cookies are little packages of love and self-expression that brighten a day and maybe a life. Carina and her team might not be your ordinary bakers, but they make cookies that are far from ordinary, you surely won’t stop at one.

What happened to Flourish?

Carina named the business “flourish” because of the word’s meaning- to thrive. However, the word is a bit too widely used in both the baking and philanthropic marketplaces, so we decided that it would be better to distinguish ourselves and Carina’s story by renaming ourselves “Carina’s Bakery.” We are confident our products will flourish your taste buds just as well as before and we have great intentions for spreading the wealth and helping people thrive under Carina’s wing!
